Practitioner Award

The OAGE Practitioner of the Year Award recognizes individuals and/or organizations in Ohio's aging network (e.g. area agencies on aging, senior centers, nursing homes, home health agencies, nutrition programs, long term care ombudsman programs) that have either:

  • As a result of research and evaluation, improved services to older adults; or
  • Developed noteworthy partnerships with institutions of higher learning (e.g., universities, community colleges, technical schools) for the betterment of Ohio's older population.

The first recipient (2005) of the OAGE Practitioner of the Year Award was the late Bonnie Walson, Founding Director of Heritage Day Health Centers in central Ohio.
