Outstanding Researcher Award

The OAGE Researcher Award recognizes individuals and/or organizations in Ohio's aging network whose research have advanced knowledge in gerontology and/or related disciplines that have either:

  • Improved services for older adults;
  • Advanced knowledge of aging process; or
  • Supported the expansion of research in the aging field in Ohio or nationally.


Nomination Process

  • Nominations may only be made by a member of OAGE.
  • The nominee should have both a two-year minimum Ohio continuous residence and two-year minimum continuous Ohio education-related appointment. 
  • Nominations must include a vita which shows Ohio educational relationships.
  • Nominations, including vita, are due March 5th, unless advertised otherwise.
  • Each nomination should include a brief statement of support by an OAGE member and provide specific examples of how the field of aging has benefitted from the specific areas of research.
  • The Awardee is expected to be in attendance at the OAGE Annual Conference to receive the OAGE Researcher Award and to attend the next annual meeting to present a talk.
