OAGE is an association of educators, researchers,
practitioners, and students in Ohio.
Practitioner resources focus on areas of interest to professionals, paraprofessionals, organizations, and services serving Ohio's aging population.
Practitioners utilizing these resources may be administrators of health care agencies, health care workers providing direct care services, products, and supportive care to older Ohioans in long term care facilities and community based agencies or other aging network organizations.
Education is a key resource for practitioners as it relates to enhancing our knowledge base and skills as well as providing education to others in the aging network.
In addition to a variety of resources, networking opportunities are available to practitioners interested in our aging population.
Growing Stronger - Strength Training for Older Adults
Tornado seasons is upon us and people working with older adults can help with emergency preparedness by sharing some helpful information about preparing for emergencies with older people and their caregivers.
"As Hurricane Katrina made painfully clear, older adults are among the most vulnerable when disaster strikes.
That's why it's critical that older people, and those who care for them, prepare for emergencies. Help may not be immediately available in the wake of a disaster. And pharmacies, medical supply stores, physicians' offices, and hospitals may be closed or inaccessible."
