Fraudulent Emails Impersonating OAGE Leadership
Stay Aware!

Dear OAGE Members,

We want to make you aware of fraudulent phishing emails currently being circulated that falsely appear to come from OAGE Board President, Dan VanDussen.

These messages are an example of what is known as “spear phishing,” a more targeted form of phishing in which scammers use personal names, organizational affiliations, and familiar details to make emails appear legitimate. Unfortunately, these scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated and personal in nature.

Please know:

• No OAGE Board member will send official requests, urgent financial inquiries, gift card requests, or sensitive communications outside of official OAGE communication channels.
• Official OAGE communications will always come through the OAGE office and verified organizational communication methods.
• If you receive suspicious emails claiming to be from a board member, please do not respond, click links, open attachments, or provide personal information.
